About the Journal

The Journal of Management and Accounting Research (JMAR) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by High Impact Publications. JMAR publishes high-quality theoretical, empirical, review, and interdisciplinary research in the fields of management, accounting, finance, governance, auditing, business analytics, entrepreneurship, sustainability, digital transformation, and related business disciplines.

The journal welcomes original contributions from academics, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and doctoral scholars that advance theory, practice, and policy in management and accounting research.


1. Editorial Policy and Peer Review

1.1 Peer Review Process

JMAR follows a double-blind peer review process. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated anonymously to ensure fairness, objectivity, academic integrity, and scholarly quality.

Under the double-blind review system:

  • Authors’ identities are concealed from reviewers.
  • Reviewers’ identities are concealed from authors.
  • Manuscripts are assessed based on originality, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, clarity, relevance, and scholarly significance.

Authors must ensure that the manuscript file does not contain any identifying information.

Authors must:

  • Remove author names and affiliations from the manuscript file.
  • Remove acknowledgements and funding details from the manuscript body.
  • Avoid self-identifying references such as “in our previous study.”
  • Ensure document properties and metadata do not reveal author identity.

A separate Title Page must be submitted containing:

  • Full manuscript title
  • Author names
  • Institutional affiliations
  • ORCID IDs (if available)
  • Corresponding author details
  • Funding information
  • Acknowledgements
  • Conflict of interest declarations

All submissions undergo:

  1. Initial editorial screening
  2. Similarity/plagiarism assessment
  3. Double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers
  4. Final editorial decision

The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to reject manuscripts that are outside the journal scope or do not meet academic quality standards.

3. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

JMAR accepts the following categories of manuscripts:

All submissions must demonstrate scholarly originality and contribute meaningfully to theory, practice, methodology, or policy.


4. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

4.1 Language

All manuscripts must be written in clear, professional, and grammatically correct English.

Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to obtain professional language editing before submission.


4.2 Manuscript Length

  • Research Articles: 5,000–12,000 words
  • Review Articles: 6,000–15,000 words
  • Research Notes/Short Communications: 2,000–4,000 words

Word counts include tables, figures, appendices, and references.


4.3 Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

Formatting specifications:

  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides
  • Alignment: Justified
  • Page numbering: Bottom center
  • Paper size: A4

Authors should use a clear heading structure:

  • Level 1 Heading
  • Level 2 Heading
  • Level 3 Heading

Avoid excessive formatting and unnecessary design elements.


5. Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript should generally include the following sections:

  1. Title
  2. Abstract
  3. Keywords
  4. Introduction
  5. Literature Review
  6. Theoretical Framework/Hypotheses Development
  7. Methodology
  8. Results/Findings
  9. Discussion
  10. Conclusion and Implications
  11. Limitations and Future Research Directions
  12. References
  13. Appendices (if applicable)

The structure may vary depending on the type of manuscript.


6. Title Page Requirements

A separate title page must contain:

  • Full title of the manuscript
  • Running title (maximum 50 characters)
  • Full names of all authors
  • Institutional affiliations
  • Country of affiliation
  • Corresponding author’s email address
  • ORCID IDs (optional but recommended)
  • Funding information
  • Acknowledgements
  • Conflict of interest statement
  • Author contribution statement

Example:

7. Abstract and Keywords

7.1 Abstract

The abstract should be between 150–250 words and clearly state:

  • Purpose of the study
  • Research methodology
  • Key findings
  • Practical/theoretical implications
  • Originality/value

The abstract should not contain:

  • Citations
  • Footnotes
  • Undefined abbreviations

7.2 Keywords

Provide 4–6 keywords immediately after the abstract.

Keywords should:

  • Reflect the core themes of the manuscript
  • Support indexing and discoverability
  • Avoid repeating words already used in the title

8. Citation and Referencing Style

JMAR follows the APA 7th Edition referencing style.

8.1 In-text Citations

Examples:

  • Single author: (Porter, 2020)
  • Two authors: (Kaplan & Norton, 2021)
  • Three or more authors: (Smith et al., 2022)

8.2 Reference List

References should:

  • Be arranged alphabetically
  • Include DOI links whenever available
  • Include only sources cited in the manuscript
  • Follow APA 7th Edition guidelines

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of references.


9. Tables and Figures

9.1 Tables

  • Tables must be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals.
  • Each table must have a concise title.
  • Tables should be editable and not submitted as images.
  • Sources must be cited where applicable.

9.2 Figures

  • Figures must be high resolution.
  • Acceptable formats: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, EPS.
  • Figures must be numbered consecutively.
  • Each figure must include a descriptive caption.

Authors must obtain permission for copyrighted materials.


10. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

JMAR adheres to the ethical standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original.
  • The work has not been published previously.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Data are authentic and accurately reported.
  • Proper acknowledgement is given to all sources.
  • Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and unethical research practices are avoided.

The journal uses plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions.

Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels may be rejected immediately.


11. Plagiarism Policy

JMAR maintains a strict plagiarism policy.

Authors must ensure:

  • Proper citation of all sources
  • Appropriate quotation and paraphrasing
  • Originality of submitted content

The acceptable similarity index should generally not exceed:

  • 15% overall similarity
  • 3% from any single source

The Editor reserves the right to reject manuscripts with excessive similarity.


12. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or similar technologies, may assist authors during manuscript preparation.

However:

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript.
  • Significant use of AI-generated content must be disclosed in the manuscript.
  • AI tools must not fabricate references, data, or findings.

AI-assisted language editing for grammar and readability does not require disclosure.


13. Research Ethics

For studies involving human participants, authors must confirm:

  • Ethical approval was obtained where applicable.
  • Informed consent was obtained.
  • Participant confidentiality was maintained.

Authors may be asked to provide ethical approval documentation.


14. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the research.

If no conflict exists, authors should state:

“The authors declare no conflict of interest.”


15. Funding Statement

Authors must disclose all funding sources supporting the research.

Example:

“This research was funded by the Ministry of Higher Education under Grant No. XXXXX.”

If no funding was received:

“The authors received no financial support for this research.”


16. Author Contributions

Authors are encouraged to provide contribution statements using the CRediT taxonomy.

Example:

  • Conceptualization: Author A
  • Methodology: Author A and Author B
  • Data Analysis: Author B
  • Writing – Original Draft: Author A
  • Writing – Review & Editing: All authors

17. Data Availability Statement

Authors should include a Data Availability Statement.

Examples:

“The datasets generated during the current study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
